COMPETITION

1.CFA Competition

The CFA Institute Research challenge (IRC) is an inter-collegiate competition sponsored by affiliate member societies of CFA Institute. The competition was held in January 2019. IoBM reached final round of CFA Society Pakistan Local Research Challenge 2018 and scored 1st Runner Up position along with the following universities:

2.Financial Modeling Competition (Fall 2018)

The competition was held in IoBM in October 2018 with 80 student participation, collaborated with Shajar Capital and the winning teams received Rs. 30,000 cash prizes

3.Commodity Mock Trading (Spring 2018)

Competition was held in collaboration with PMEX for online trading of commodities in which 100 students registered.

5. Jama Punji Competition 1

“1st Inter University Mock Trading Competition” conducted in collaboration with Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and Jama Punji in August, 2017, an education portal of the SECP. 250 students competed from various universities across Pakistan. Muhammad Ahmed Kanani, a BS-Joint Honors student at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) achieved first position at the “1st Inter University Mock Trading Competition”.

6. Jama Punji Competition 2

This competition is an initiative by SECP’s Jamapunji for increasing financial literacy and mass investor awareness in the Country. IoBM’s team managed to book an annual gain of 104% as against the market performance -10%. IoBM team won 2nd Prize out of 30 universities competing from all across Pakistan in October, 2017.

FIELD TRIPS

  • Afroze Textile Mill
    Cost Accounting class visited Afroze Textile Mill on 20th October 2017 to understand Job Costing procedures conducted by company. The visit was part of their term project and was arranged by Faculty member Mr. Tauseef Qureshi.
  • Dimensions
    Cost Accounting class visited Dimensions on 3rd November 2017 to understand Job Costing procedures conducted by company. The visit was part of their term project and was arranged by Faculty member Mr. Tauseef Qureshi.

  • PSX Trip
    Students of CBM have always found their visit to the Pakistan Stock Exchange very beneficial. It is easy to find live and updated PSX 100 index live market summary with PSX share prices, PSX data, stocks detail summary and complete market which help in their future. The trip is organized every semester for selected IBF classes to make them understand the workings of Stock Exchange.
  • Herbion Education Field Trip
    “The Best People Produce the Best Product” that’s why Herbion is constantly on the lookout for bright, ambitious team players who have a strong commitment to improve society, the environment, even themselves. The trip was arranged for Entrepreneurial class of Fall 2017. This type of trip makes the student motivate to start their own venture as well as they learn from the industry mentors the financial dynamics of a business.
  • Genix Pharma Field Trip
    The trip was arranged for the students of Entrepreneurial Finance of Fall 2017 and Spring 2018. Genix Pharma (Pvt.) Ltd is a leading Pharmaceutical manufacturer & marketing company based in Pakistan with its business expanding throughout Asian & African Markets. After its establishment in 2004, Genix Pharma has been recognized as the fastest growing Pharmaceutical Company in its earliest years. It has been ranked among the top 40 companies including MNC’s. They have a work force of more than 1400 professionally trained and highly qualified employees. This trip was in aligned with their term project of making a business plan of a new venture.
